Mentor Contract 2025-26

Our Mission Statement:

Summit Leadership Commonwealth is a homeschool community where we support each other as homeschool parents. We develop strong moral character, take responsibility for our own education, and ground everything we do in the classics.

We will be meeting on Wednesdays at 10 AM – 12 PM at Footprints Church of the Nazarene. Our first day back is 9/10/2025.

The contract for Summit Leadership Commonwealth for the 2025-26 school year states:

I commit to:

  1. Read our central book, A Thomas Jefferson Education, by Oliver DeMille.

Please read it and be prepared to participate in a discussion about this book at our Orientation Meeting.

  2. Attend ONE Orientation Meeting.

    Friday, August 15th at 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

    or

    Saturday, August 23rd at 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Families who do not have at least one parent attend will not be able to participate in Summit Leadership Commonwealth.

The meeting is held at the Bailey’s home 4705 NE 139th St Vancouver, WA 98686.

This is a meeting for parents only. Husbands are strongly encouraged to attend.

  3. Mentor at least one, no more than two, six-week classes in Junior School or a two-semester commitment in Scholar School.

    Classes for mentorship include:

    Nursery (ages 0-3)

    CORE classes (ages 3-8)

LOVE OF LEARNING classes (ages 8-11)

    SCHOLAR classes (ages 11-18)

When not leading a class, everyone is still needed. Help in an assigned class, bring supporting materials, guide stations, tidy up, and keep phones tucked away.

If you will be absent during a class, contact the class mentor and the Junior School Director.

  4. Remain at Footprints Church the entire school time, Wednesdays from 10 AM – 12 PM.

In a situation where parents are out of town, sick, or in an emergency, Junior School and Scholar children may come with another family or family member. We are not a daycare. We are all volunteers.

  5. Participate in a rotating cleaning assignment.

  6. Pay commonwealth dues.

At the time of signing this contract, a non-refundable, registration fee of $50 is due.

Per semester, there is a $100 base fee per family; plus $10 per child for Jr School and $30 per child for Scholar classes per semester.

As an example, a family with one Scholar and one Jr School child would pay the initial $50 fee plus $140 per semester.

If your circumstances would be blessed by having a payment plan spread over the semester, please contact the Treasurer.

  7. An Impact Scholar is the phase of learning after children have graduated. No dues are owed, and there is no formal obligation on Wednesdays. An Impact mom is forever invited to come to colloquia, her contact information is listed on the Summit directory, and everyone is invited to reach out to her for leadership, wisdom, and education for home and the commonwealth.

Paying your deposit fee to @summit2425 via Venmo secures your spot with us at Summit for the 2025-26 school year. Doing so also contracts your agreement to the above commitments. Thank you for joining us!

Sincerely,

The Summit Leadership Board
